MatrixPortal M4 and Simpletest

I soldered 8 and E together on my MatrixPortal M4. I connected the M4 to a 64x64 RGB LED Matrix Panel - 2mm Pitch[ID:5362] both were purchased from adafruit in January of 2023. I get lots of diagonal, flickering red lines no matter which CircuitPython examples I have tried. So, after reading the forums, I tried "matrix_portal_simpletest_64x64.UF2". The resulting screen looks like: . Does anyone know if this is a Success or Failure?

I tried a few times to get the image to appear in the post. It did not originally, but it does when I look at the post now. It shows three red diagonal stripes about 5 pixels wide at about a 30 degree slope.

That doesn't sound right. Where did you find that UF2?

You copied it to MATRIXBOOT?

Double check the E-8 jumping.

The connector is lined up and inserted correctly into the connector on the LED matrix?

Yes, I copied it to MatrixBoot. Double pressed the reset button. I'm certain of the E-8 solder. pin 16 also shows no continuity with 8. I've connected/disconnected many times. Tried an external power supply. I've seen some suggestions that an FM6126A might have issues, my M4 has FM6124D which I see no mention of. I've ordered a 32x32, to test the M4 further.

The MatrixPortal works otherwise? I.e. things that don't use the matrix?

I'll see about getting some other eyes on this.

FYI - The NEOPixel is sometines white.
