Camera v2.1 Issue

Post by Stevenhasara »

Hi, I recently purchased the "Microsoft Machine Learning Kit for Lobe with Raspberry Pi 4 2GB". It came with "Raspberry Pi Camera Board v2 - 8 Megapixels". On the board, I see it labeled "Camera V2.1".

I think there is a problem with this camera. I cannot get the Raspberry Pi to detect it at all. I have tried a few different versions of Raspberry Pi OS and Ubuntu, with a lot of time searching for answers on each. I believe it is an issue with the camera board. The old "Raspberry Pi Camera V1.3" board I have is properly detected.

Is there any hardware troubleshooting I can do? Is it still possible to be a software driver/config problem if I see a Camera V1.3 and not a V2.1?

Double-check all the connections: both ends of the flex cable, and the tab that connects the CCD module to the camera PCB.

The connector between the CCD and the camera PCB takes a fair amount of force to seat properly. When you reconnect it, press down with an unsharpened pencil (or some other probe about the same size) until you feel/hear the connector click into place.
