PyGamer power question

Post by Claude_J_Greengrass »

I have PyGamer driving a couple of 3.5v relays. They work correctly in that they switch on and off when the USB cable is not connecting the PyGamer to my PC. When I connect the USB cable, the LEDs on the relay module continue to flash, but the relays do not operate.

Any suggestions to resolve this problem?

I should add, I have a Lithium Ion Polymer Battery - 3.7V 350mAh attached at the same time as the USB cable

How are the relays wired? And what are the relays? Pictures of components and connections generally help.

That's what they are. What about the rest of my questions?

Here is the wiring. I used Adafruit QT cables

Those are just 3-pin JST connectors, not STEMMA, and certainly not QT.

Are you sure that the Vcc on those JST connections is 3.3v and not 5v which I believe is the default. See https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pyg ... ep-3028887.

Wow! I completely missed that. It makes life much easier. I can use SSRs for switching.

May thanks for making me re-read the specification.
