Feather Huzzah ESP8266

Post by mvalente3 »

I'm trying to install wippersnapper on the Feather Huzzah ESP8266 using the chrome page. I've connected the board using a known good data cable and have keep getting this error. I've unplugged and replugged the usb cable with no luck. I'm not sure what else to try. I've attached a screenshot of what I'm seeing, any other ideas?

Could you try another USB cable? Make sure this is a USB cable you know is good for data sync, and not just a charging cable.

I think it might be computer OS version + whatever permissions it makes. I've tried 3 Windows 11 with no luck and 2 Windows 10 with success

Randomio, I have a question for you since I haven't seen a diff. between Win10/11 reported before.

Do you have the SiLabs CP210x driver installed on your Windows 11 machine? Could you try re-installing it? https://www.silabs.com/developers/usb-t ... =downloads

Hmm - I am using windows 10 and having this issue. @brubell I have been using a known good data cable as mentioned in my original post. Are there any other things I should be looking out for?

Yes, I do have the SiLabs CP210x driver installed on Windows 11. It just looks like to me that the portal finishes reading a loop and then doesn't know to continue on? The debug interface doesn't give great offerings into what it should be doing next.

What portal are you referring to?

Is there an issue with the ESP8266? I updated with the newest version of WipperSnapper and it no longer connects. I've tried deleting my device and reinstalling WipperSnapper on the ESP8266 (which it seems to do successfully), but it doesn't show up on my Devices page.

Hi Brubell - are you able to help my issue? This thread has got a few other issues in it and I'm looking for a resolution to mine. If these boards aren't able to connect to wipper snapper I'd like to return them but adafruit support said you had to authorize that first.

Could you please file a bug report at https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_Wi ... .md&title=

Are you still unable to connect via the Web Uploader?

Could you try the web uploader on another computer, preferably running something other than Windows 10?

Could you also try going into your Windows device manager and following the steps illustrated here to use an older version of the CP210x driver: https://github.com/espressif/esptool-js ... 1445188241
