PN532 shield v1.0 to RPi

Post by d82k »

Hello,
I have an old Adafruit PN532 RFID/NFC Shield v1.0 which I would like to use with my RPi 4.
I was able to make it work few years ago with a Crius FTDI Basic Breakout 5V USB to TTL 6-Pin Module. but now I cannot make it work again.
It’s an old board SEL0 and SEL1 are reversed on the silkscreen, so SEL0 is actually SEL1 and vice versa. It has both 5v and 3.3 but looks like 3.3 barely powers it up.

This is how I wired it:
Connect 5V from the FTDI board to 5V on the NFC shield
Connect GND from the FTDI board to GND on the NFC shield
Connect TXO from the FTDI board to SS on the NFC shield
Connect RXI from the FTDI board to MOSI on the NFC shield

The FTDI adapter is recognized on ttyUSB0 but nfc-list does not detect it. Any alternative suggestions to the wiring?

Kind regards
dk
