I see this little board
It’s cheaper on eBay

That would hold your timer circuit. You still need a place to mount the MOSFET.
We do have generic perf-board you can cut to size as needed.

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
Thanks,
I am wondering if I will have the room.
Do you know how small it would potentially be? Would it be bigger than the fx board?
I might have room if I can sandwich the fx board, buck converter and the timer circuit together maybe wrapped in tape or something like that.

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
You should be able to fit it onto a board as small or smaller than that Walmart board.
For a delay timer, you just need R1 and C1. The MOSFET is a little bigger than the 555 chip, but you can lay it down flat on the board.

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
Do any of the 555 timer calculators work backwards? For instance I want to just plug in 120ms and it will produce the R1 and C values but all the calculators I see online don’t seem to work that way

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
Start with a capacitor value like 1uF and a resistor value like 1K Ohm. Then increase or decrease the resistor value until you get close to 120ms.
The actual timing will vary a bit because these are analog components and will vary somewhat from the rated value. You could replace the resistor with a small potentiometer so you can fine-tune it in place.

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
I’ve hooked up the new battery and the 3 amp switch with the laser every thing works however the led light still lights up when the battery is plugged in and the switch is in the off position. The laser doesn’t do that it only lights when the momentary switch is tuned on. The led light works correctly when the switch is in the on position meaning it goes off and only lights when the momentary switch is pressed

Post a diagram of how you have everything connected.

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
I will
I’m going to change it though and use the led as a power on switch. That will solve the problem as well but I will diagram it as is as to see where the issue might be

This diagram is how it’s currently wired including the laser

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
According to your diagram, the laser and LED are both wired between VIN and GND.
If they are wired that way, both laser and LED will come on when the toggle switch is turned on. Neither is related in any way to the action of the momentary switch.

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
Yes but the momentary is a break in the ground wire correct?
Or am I missing something?

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
The diagram you posted shows a direct connection between the laser and ground as well as the LED and ground.
