Just need my maths checked lest I buy the wrong thing. I intend to put a 230mm section of a Skinny NeoPixel LED on a 3D printer with a BIQU E3EZ mainboard. It has an RGB port and 5v/5a available for add-ons. The full string burns 13 watts and I think I'll need 1/4 of that, 3w. I intend to also power an rpi3b from that 5v supply.
This strip is cuttable to that approximate length?
I have sufficient current and won't need an buck converter?
What else did I miss?
Thanks

Re: Skinny NeoPixel LED Strip in 3D printer
A 230mm section of the NeoPixel Mini Skinny would be about 2W (.23 * 9.5W per meter).
A Raspberry Pi 3b max current or 5W.
You should have plenty of room to use the aux USB port for both.

Dang, left out neon-like from my item description. Only another watt, so I assume I'm still good to go.
It is cuttable?

The datasheet says "without light dot cutting unit 31.25mm". Does that mean I can cut it anywhere after that length?

Re: Skinny NeoPixel LED Strip in 3D printer
I thought any of the cut-lines available every 17mm were fair game to use, but maybe this is suggesting a minimum of two NeoPixels. Regardless I think you will be fine if you choose a cut-line near your original length of 230mm.
Just to confirm can you link me to the Adafruit product number and the datasheet you were looking at. There are a few versions of skinny neopixels.

I read the "without light dot cutting unit 31.25mm" line as the spacing between the cut zones and you need to have at least one LED present. Is that what you observe on your strip?
