@obrienlabs Interesting - I tried running the I2C directly and didn't have luck. You just used the C/D pins on the Neokey?

Yeah, here's a photo that may explain it better.

SDA -> D
SCL -> C
VIN solder bridges to 3 on the NeoKey 1x4
Stemma cable carries the 3v and GND. If you don't have that, need to solder that too
