I need to capture a fast moving object, (0-60 mph in 0.5 seconds) from about 5 feet away (i.e the launch of a rocket).
I have not had any luck in finding the minimum shutter speed for the Module 3 camera. Do you have any data? What is the maximum burst speed for the camera? Is there a limitation based on write times to the SD card? Will the rolling shutter impact how many pictures I can capture?
How about the Global Shutter camera? Any idea on the min shutter speed for that bad boy? And maximum burst speed? Will SD card writes impact the burst speed?
Thanks!
Mark

Re: What is the Minimum shutter speed for the Camera Module 3
Mark,
The Raspberry Pi Camera 3 Documentation mentions 30uS as the minimum (fastest) shutter speed.
The Raspberry Pi Camera 3 Documentation mentions 30uS as the minimum (fastest) shutter speed.
The Raspberry Pi Global Shutter Camera can also operate with shorter exposure times - down to 30µs, given enough light - than a rolling shutter camera, which makes it useful for high-speed photography.
