Feather RP2040 not entering bootloader

Post by dankrooster »

A few weeks ago I was working on the mini gif player project and got it working. Today I finished designing the housing I intended to use it on, and went to change the gif stored on the RP2040 using the same cable as I did previously, but my PC will not recognize the device when holding BOOTSEL and pressing reset. I tried jumping the Reset to the Ground pin, and holding the BOOTSEL button as I plugged in the feather but its not working. Any ideas what the issue could be and how to go about troubleshooting/fixing it? I appreciate all the feedback. Thank you!

If you're sure the USB cable is good, then it may be something else is shorting out. The bootloader on the RP2040 is built in and can not be accidentally overwritten by user code. Should always be able to get the RPI-RP2 folder to show up by holding BOOTSEL and pressing RST.
