All,
I purchased a Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 - 12MP 120 Degree Wide Angle Lens and received it a couple of days ago. The order number was 3035640-7591698629.
At first, I hooked this camera to a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W and was unable to make it work so I tried hooking it to a Raspberry Pi 4B with the same results that I will further explain below. The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W as a Klipper image installed on it and the Raspberry Pi 4B has an OctoPrint image installed on it.
While I am not very experienced with Linux, I do generally understand what I'm doing. Both Raspberry Pi's have sufficient power supplies and I am communicating via SSH to both over a wireless connection.
I have utilized information I was able to find on the Internet but have run out of talent. Here are the basics.
raspistill -o image.jpg results in the following
mmal: mmal_vc_component_enable: failed to enable component: ENOSPC
mmal: camera component couldn't be enabled
mmal: main: Failed to create camera component
mmal: Failed to run camera app. Please check for firmware updates
sudo vcgencmd get_camera results in the following
supported=1 detected=1, libcamera interfaces=0
dmesg
I've updated the pi with the sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade and sudo raspi upgrade then rebooting. I've re-done the OS multiple times, and have also increase the GPU memory from the default 128 to 256 and 512. No change in behavior.
raspistill -v -o test.jpg results in the following
Please help.
Brad

Yes. libcamera-still -o ztest.jpg returns the following.

Re: Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 - 12MP 120 Degree Wide Angle Lens
Hi, I also just received my Adafruit Camera 3 module, plugged it into my raspberry pi 4B, same result. I tried my older camera module, which works. I also tried the older camera module on a pi 3 and it worked, tried the camera 3 on the pi 3, same result: “no cameras available”. Have you tried anything else?

@tadashiyara Please start a new thread for your issue.
@kaye7877 Does the camera still work if you switch back to the Pi Zero 2 W? The issue is only with the Pi4B?
