LiPo charger, ID 1904

Post by earthres »

Is it possible to use some small solar cells, say several sets of 2 3-V serial cells, in parallel, rather than a USB source, to power this charger?

Hello!
Based on what I know about the technology, sadly no. The company does sell a charger arrangement that does do that, which is, 4755. It has to do with the technology behind the solar cells and the actual battery pack or single battery itself. Although the group itself might chime in with a different response, so please wait a while longer.

@earthres,
You certainly could; but they would not be in parallel, they would be in series (so you can get the desired input voltage to the charger). However, you should read the section below as to why a dedicated solar charger (such as Product ID 4755) is the desired solution.
