Sewable Neopixels V2 Not Responding to Code

Post by mmgold »

I bought the sewable neopixels version 2 to work with my playground express, but when I wire them to the express they will not follow the code. The pixels turn on bright white, but will not change color, brightness, or turn off. Attached are pictures of my code as well as my wiring.

I suspect the alligator clips are the problem. It's hard to get good connections on the pixels boards, without making shorts: the clips are big and the pads are small. I advise soldering the connection to them for testing.

Also, does your code work using the onboard NeoPixels?

This specific code doesn't work with the onboard neopixels, but they work with other codes. As for soldering the wire is there any other way you could think to test the neopixels as I do not have the ability to solder them?

Right. It uses A1 which you would have to change to use the onboard NeoPixels.

You could use conductive thread to connect them, but you'd have to take care that the threads don't touch & short.
