Motorshield v2.0 vs. v2.3

Post by hardyy »

What are the major differences between the two versions? Is there a reason not to use v2.0 for new projects anymore?

Version 2.0 follows the original Arduino header layout. It is plug-compatible with the UNO and all of the classic Arduino boards. It can be made to work with other boards with some jumpers required.

Version 2.3 has the extended "V3" Arduino header layout, so it is compatible with all boards that follow that header standard.

Other than that, the active circuitry on the two versions is identical.
