I think I've got it working now, at least the LCD. I'm using LCD_I2C.h with success but there was also some user error of course. I've yet to try the SD again yet.
Thanks,
Jim

Re: ItsyBitsy M4 Express not showing up under boards?
But, what's new to me with this board is that the sketch doesn't run right away after uploading or a power cycle. I understand it's also a storage drive, maybe that's why? Is that a setting that I can adjust?

Re: ItsyBitsy M4 Express not showing up under boards?
There's erratic behavior where quite often Arduino IDE says it can't find the board, then I reset it according to Adafruit website instructions which sometimes works but I often have to repeat this. Sometimes I get a "Windows couldn't install board", but not always. Then when I powercycle the board, the sketch may not run unless I reset it again.

Jim

This all sounds odd. Make sure *everything* is up to date: Arduino, its boards and libraries, as well as the bootloader on the ItsyBitsy.

I think that may have done the trick, my bootloader was 2.0 vs 3.0.
