Hi. I've followed the instructions to install my new board from Adafruit's website but it's still not showing up. I see other similar boards but not this exact one as described in the guide. Is another one close enough?
Thanks!

What do you get when you look at the Adafruit SAMD board list?

The itsy-bitsy just above the blue dot should be OK.

What is the "express" part doing for me? Thanks again.

Re: ItsyBitsy M4 Express not showing up under boards?
"Express" generally means there's an external SPI flash chip on the board which provides a larger flash drive. That's a general guideline that not every board follows. E.g. the HallowingM4 has a API flash chip but isn't labelled "Express". But if you have, for example, a Feather M0 and a Feather M0 Express, the express board will have a SPI flash chip.

its a typo, and not relevant - you still need to pick ItsyBitsy M4 :)

Re: ItsyBitsy M4 Express not showing up under boards?
While I've got you... I've wired up my Itsy Bitsy M4 Express the same as my Itsy Bitsy 32u4, and the sketch compiles but is not working correctly. Any tips?

Was the ItsyBitsy 32u4 the 5v or 3v version? And what circuitry is connected to it?

Re: ItsyBitsy M4 Express not showing up under boards?
It's 3V3 version. I'm using a LCD2004a with the PCF 8574T backpack. Also the Adafruit Micro SD Card Breakout Board. It was all working with the old board, an I2C scanner detects the addresses and the LCD backlight turns on but that's about it.
Thanks,
Jim

It would appear that it is a library problem for the LCD, the old one wouldn't work on the new board.

See https://learn.adafruit.com/introducing- ... ches-to-m0. There might be something there that is relevant.

Thanks Dave, I can attest that hd44780.h and SD.h do not seem to work. Would you happen to know of a good LCD and SD card library?

The Adafruit SD library should work. I'm not familiar with the LCD parts you mention. Do you have a link to what you're using?
