Adhesive for silicone-wrapped strips

Post by cheech47 »

I see that the Adafruit product page recommends the Permatex gasket maker as an adhesive for stuff with a silicone waterproofing barrier, but I just wanted to point out that I had pretty good luck with Smooth-On Sil-Poxy. I was able to pull off the LED strip using the Permatex gasket maker pretty easily after a couple of wears (my use case is adhering a .5 meter LED strip around the circumference of a hat), but it did hold up. I just did a glue-up with the Sil-Poxy and it seems a lot more stable. Hope it helps someone out!

Thanks for posting your findings. I'll add this to our list of recommended adhesives. I'm sure this will be helpful to many.
