RockBlock 9603

Post by ken_st »

Hello,

I plugged in my RockBlock 9603 and smoke came from U3. I'm guessing that's a 5v regulator? Whats the warranty? Can I get a new carrier board as I think the 9603 module is fine? Does anyone know the U3 part number I could probably just replace that chip thanks.

You can contact rock7 about the U3 component. Their support e-mail is [email protected]

The power supply used sounds like your own not the included FTDI USB cable. Is that correct? In case you had not seen it this is the pinout diagram from the guide. It does mention a 450mA limit on the power supply.
RXD Serial output from RockBLOCK, so it's really TX
CTS Clear to Send (output from RockBLOCK)
RTS Ready To Send (input to RockBLOCK)
NET Network Available
RI Ring Indicator (active low)
TXD Serial input to RockBLOCK, so it's really RX
SLP Sleep control (pull to ground to switch off)
5V 5V in power supply (450mA limit)
BAT 3.7V power supply (450mA limit)
GND Ground
