How do I detach the #1206 20pin SOIC adapters from each other?

Post by Happy_Hippo »

I bought Adafruit #1206 20 pin SOIC adapters from Digikey. There are three of them attached together along two side rails. I tried to twist them off, but I don't want to use too much force. Is there some secret to detaching these things? Those buggers seem like they are on there and don't want to be separated.

Can you post a photo showing how they arrived. Unless something has changed, they should have arrived separated. So want to verify what you have.

The should snap apart. Use pliers to grasp the siderail with the edge of the jaws next to the dividing line and rotate the pliers to snap off the rail. It should take very little force.

Thanks. I wanted to make sure they were indeed meant to snap apart. I thought I may have ordered some odd version of it from Digikey. I know I couldn't get them part by hand without using lot of force.
