if you get both sources, put them in an IDE (like netbeans) and "diff" the files, you'll see a nice visual representation of the changes

There should be a README with the exact same contents as the first post in this thread in the zip. For having a closer look at the changes in the code you need to use some sort of diff tool. You could for instance download all of the packages backwards, add them to some version control system and view the incremental changes one at a time.

OK, this time I actually understand your question...

No, this is correct, there never was a README for the first version. You might be able to use the internet archive and view the thread as it was when I created it, that should show the first post as it was originally.

I believe the pattern erasing [Holding CHAIN + TEMPO] isn't working for me (anymore) :(

If I remember correctly, it worked when I tried it a while back. But now simply nothing happens. Does anyone perhaps know how to fix this?

Thanks!

You have to have the pattern running.
Or every now and again my knob slips down so there is not enough clearance for the push switch on the tempo encoder to register. I just pull it back up a little bit.
Hope it's something simple.

Thanks a lot!! I indeed had to have the pattern running. Glad it still works!

I am using my x0x along with MC-909 which is quite a pain in the ass when it comes to midi synchronizing. When I slave x0x, sync seems to be unstable and a bit late. x0x as a master clock works ok, but I don't want it to send any midi note messages as MC-909 doesn't have a proper midi msg. filter, so I end up losing one channel. Is there any way of disabling midi note output within x0xb0x? Maybe it could be done by tweaking firmware?

Thanks in advance.

MIDI pattern change, woohoo. Just send a MIDI patch change message on the MIDI-in channel and the 'b0x will act as if you pressed the corresponding button and twisted the bank knob.
How does this work? What channel do I send midi to? Which notes?

Thanks.

Midi Patch change message = Midi Program Change message (= midi channel + program number)
No note needed. A sequencer can send Midi Program Change messages. Or a synth, if you select a program.

Prog Change channel must match x0xb0xs' current channel.
The current channel is displayed by leds 1-16 in midi play mode. You can set it by turning the "track/pattern group" encoder.

Prog Change numbers start at zero:

prog change 0 > group 1, pattern 1
prog change 1 > group 1, pattern 2
prog change 2 > group 1, pattern 3
...
prog change 7 > group 1, pattern 8
prog change 8 > group 2, pattern 1
prog change 9 > group 2, pattern 2
...
