SpokePOV Not Working

Post by jwb »

Hi guys,

I soldered up a SpokePOV and when i put the batteries in, they get hot and the LEDs don't light up. I was concerned I put the LEDs in wrong because a lot of people did. I put the long leads toward the outside of the PCB.

I figured out that only the battery next to IC8 heats up.

I could still use some help with this. Any suggestions for powering my SpokePOV?

Hiya, it looks like only 2 of three battery holders are in place, is there a reason you didnt install the second battery holder? also, did you cut the trace for the third battery?

Oops, I put it in the wrong spot? Also, I only got 2 battery clip sets with the kit. I assumed you used 3 for blue, but this one is red.

So I should desolder the clips and resolder them in the other location?

Thanks!

yep! just make it look like the photo, use a big soldering top to desolder, and pliers to carefully remove :)

I wasn't able to get the clips out so I jammed in a plastic 1xAA holder in there and soldered it into place. It worked! Thanks for your help!
