I2C problems

Post by duncanh »

I am using a QUAD ALPHANUMERIC DISPLAY - YELLOW 0.54" DIGITS W/ I2C BACKPACK and 2 16MM ILLUMINATED PUSHBUTTON - GREEN MOMENTARY hooked up to my Raspberry Pi.
I am trying to get the 2 push buttons to run through the I2C but having problems getting it to work.
What am I doing wrong or do I have to get different buttons?

Those switches aren't I2C devices. They're just pushbuttons.

I was actually able to figure out how to connect the buttons to I2C by using a MCP23017 or MCP23008 chip.

[moved to Other Adafruit Products]

Post your code and some photos of how you have everything connected and we'll take a look.
