How many bluefruits can I control w/one iPhone?

Post by jem_j85 »

I am very interested in purchasing the Adafruit Feather M0 Bluefruit LE. I will need to control anywhere from 2-12 or even 16 of them at once if possible. If not with the Feather than many with another product?

To my knowledge there isn't a hard limit on the number of peripherals an iPhone can connect to (that Apple documents anyway) ... the limitation will be more in the radio itself (and I don't know which chips are used in which iPhones to comment there). You should be able to hold a dozen connections, though you'll have much slower throughput on the devices since you have to share one radio to talk to all of them. The number I see consistently mentioned is around 20 devices.

This thread from Nordic seems to indicate 10, but this will probably need testing to verify and may change from one iOS version to the next: https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/question ... for-ios-7/
