Flora and Windows 10 Device Manager No Show!

Post by Luzzit »

Hello,

This is week three for me trying to get Flora to "simply Blink". Windows 10 (ten) device manager does not recognize Flora when connected. I can see it as a USB device that "is working". But not able to send a sketch her way. I wish I could get this puppy working. been to the forums, no luck. The super simple instructions in the .pdf I purchased do not work. I am hoping that some one or something (a WIKI would be awesome!!!) can help an old fart control systems engineer. That said. Before I turn to Code bender (GREAT FOLK there) I would like a response .

love you,

Patrick

Thank you for the reply.
I tried installing the software u suggested. But this did not make any difference. The usb connection to board is not detected by device manager.
I am using windows 10 pc and a normal USB cable for the connection.

i dont know what MAP SMS is, you should be looking under COM ports, right below, try both plugging in and pressing the reset button to start the bootloader

Hello Again,

I loaded the driver URLs suggested in Adafruits last post, still when I try to simply compile the Blink routine, I get "Panic:Runtime Error: Invalid Memory address. There is a reason I always put flora off to the end of my weekend.

But, hey, see you next week and thanks for all of your help with Flora.

Good Day,

Yes, the Windows 10 made a pleasant noise when I plugged in Flora. I checked device manager and saw that the device (not named) plugged in to (USB) com port #5 was working. I next plugged Flora into the other USB and found that now the device plugged in to comport #3 was working. But the Dev mngr doesn't recognize the device as Flora. Sorry I been lax about responding, but I find this whole adventure with Adafruit very frustrating.

How to get the simple blink program downloaded to a Windows 10 machine is still the question as the Adafruit Flora .pdf I paid for does not provide instructions for windows 10.

Thank you,

Pat

I have also a problem communicating with Flora on Windows 10 platform (while for Windows 7 it was fine!). After installing all Adafruit drivers, the Adafruit Flora is not listed (see the attached screenshot), and it is not possible to communicate with it (I tried all possible ports). Also, the yellow light (RX) on the FLORA is blinking.

Also, pressing/holding "reset" button on FLORA does not help...

Please provide a solution URGENTY!

Thank you!

Hello Ada,

Yeah, me too, my first windows 10 machine. Anyhow, when I use Browse to find the screen shot that was requested, there is no ATTACH option, only OPEN or CANCEL. Trying to drag and drop gets me a red circle with a red line through it (means Win10 cant execute the file move). At this point ANY help would be lovely. I have had Flora now for many weeks and really want to start using her.

Thank you,

Pat

Hello Ada,

Found the Snip feature so here goes, see if you can read my "snipped" screen shot of DevMngr w/Flora at com port #5. Whoops came up as C:drive (your File window)...let me know if you can open any content.

I also tried to paste the screen shot directly to this very spot and win10 refused to execute.

Awaiting further instructions master!

Thank you,

Luzzit
