That's great! Wish I could figure out my problem, the same error. Using 1.64, and latest board manager for HUZZAH. Using ftdi ttl-232rg-vip-we and cable and orange, yellow, red, black wires. Getting errors too:
error: espcomm_open failed
error: espcomm_upload_mem failed
error: espcom_synch failed.
